Jennifer Dunlap is a North Carolina-based artist whose work is deeply personal, inspired by resilience, faith, and the legacy of her grandmother, a gifted painter. Her journey as an artist began during one of the most challenging times of her life—when she was searching for a way to find peace amid uncertainty. Art became that gift.

Though she never had formal training, Jennifer was drawn to the idea of creating something meaningful, just as her grandmother had done. One morning, while walking past the paintings her grandmother had gifted her, she felt a calling to pick up a brush. That simple moment sparked a passion that has since become an essential part of her life.

Jennifer’s work is rooted in symbolism and emotion. She paints birds for their freedom, koi in honor of the Japanese Legend of the Koi, and florals—titled *Bloom in Gloom*—as a reminder to find beauty even in difficult times. Cardinals in her collection represent the presence of loved ones who never truly leave, while hummingbirds symbolize courage, and butterflies remind us that transformation follows even the darkest moments.

She believes in signs, miracles, and the idea that rainbows always follow storms. Her artwork is not just about what she sees but about what she feels and the stories she hopes to share with others.

Jennifer lives in North Carolina with her husband, John, their three children, and two golden retrievers.
